Do I have to pay a bill for a empty home?

You will be charged if you need to use the water at any point. The water supply remains connected to your home and is available for you to use.
 
The best option to ensure that you only pay for water used is to have a water meter.
 
If your home already has a water meter, then you will only pay for the water you use. You will have to pay the standing charges regardless of the amount of water used.
 
You can ask us to disconnect your supply if you no longer need water. We currently charge to turn the supply on again. We will need to make an appointment to do this. If you want the water disconnected or think you are eligible for reduced charges while your property is empty, please contact us.
