Help with paying your bill

If you're having trouble paying your water bill, we’re here to help. Here are some ways we can make paying a little bit easier.

  • Set up a payment plan

    Spread the cost of paying with a payment plan. There are many ways to pay, either by direct debt, online, Pay Point card or giro slips.


  • Apply for a low cost tariff

    Are you claiming benefits or do you have a household income of less than £16,480 excluding benefits?


    Do you have a water meter, and consume a lot of water because you have a large family or a medical condition?


  • Pay from your benefits

    The Water Direct Scheme scheme is run in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions; it allows you to set up a weekly payment which is taken directly out of your benefits.

    Are you?:

    • In debt and can’t afford to pay the current bill
    • Receiving one of the following benefits: Income-based Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, Pension Credit, Universal Credit

  • Get help with sewerage charges

    We collect charges on behalf of the sewerage provider for your area. They have schemes to help customers struggling with their bills.

  • Independent Debt advice

    There are independent debt agencies or charities that offer debt advice and support.
