Working with schools and pupils to save water

At Affinity Water, we're passionate about inspiring the next generation to protect our precious water resources. Our Water Smart school programme partners with the National Schools Partnership to bring local schools, teachers, and pupils across the Affinity Water region information about water conservation, environmental awareness, and the protection of our chalk streams.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, our programme is continually evolving to include new exciting initiatives like LEGO workshops and competitions to engage young learners in fun, educational ways.

Our water‑saving curriculum

Across all 500 schools within the Affinity Water region, our Water Smart programme offers:

Educational resources & toolkits: Lesson plans, assemblies, and activities designed to teach children about water conservation and the importance of protecting chalk streams.
Exciting competitions for children: New competitions each year to keep pupils engaged and excited about saving water.
Interactive water saving materials: Every participating school receives a free water butt to encourage rainwater harvesting and hands-on learning.
