Affinity Water launches a new recruitment drive for ambitious graduates to take up the challenge in 2022

Steve Plumb

Affinity Water has launched a new 2022 recruitment drive for engineering, asset management and scientific graduates who want to become leaders in their fields and help solve one of the most pressing climate change issues, how our national water resources are managed.

It is looking for candidates with a Batchelors or Master’s degree in an engineering or science discipline who want to continue to improve their skills in a workplace environment and join the UK’s largest water only Company.

The successful applicants will embark on Affinity Water’s Graduate Scheme 2022 and be able to learn from industry-leading experts on wide-ranging topics to develop the skills and experience needed to provide water supplies today and safeguard water resources for the future. They will join Affinity Water’s Asset Directorate and study topics such as:

  • Improving biodiversity
  • Managing water resources
  • Asset health and resilience
  • Prioritising risks and investment
  • Project and programme management

Steve Plumb, Director of Asset Strategy and Capital Delivery said: “Our new Graduate Training Scheme will shape Affinity Water’s future as we tackle the problems of scarce water resources, climate change, and a growing population in the South-East. We will impart sound engineering and scientific principles to our trainees to help them make evidence-based decisions to get the best value for money for our customers, while protecting the local environment, increasing resilience, improving sustainability, and supporting the development of our long-term plans.

“This is an opportunity for engineering and science graduates to embark on a leadership role in an industry that is trying to solve one of the major sustainable challenges of the 21st century, while making a positive difference to the local environment and local communities. We want our trainees to take up the challenge in 2022 and to sound us out about these new roles.”
