Low pressure in Luton

We’re really sorry if you are experiencing low pressure. We’ve been made aware of a burst water main on Waller Avenue which may be causing this.

What we’re doing

Our repair team have stayed on Waller Avenue and are continuing to repair the burst water main. As soon as we know how much longer this will take, we’ll let you know.

We’re really sorry for the disruption. We’re working hard to get your water flowing again soon.

What you can do

Until we’ve sorted this, please avoid using your:

  • Washing machine
  • Dishwasher
  • Electrical appliances that use water

If you still have water, we recommend you put some in your kettle or fridge for drinking in case your water needs switching off for the repair.

We’re really sorry about this, we’re working to get your water back to normal as soon as possible.

We updated this message at 02:00 and we'll remove alert after 10:00 am

What's happened so far?

(19:30) We've been made aware of customers experiencing low pressure in this area due to a burst on Waller Avenue, we are looking to repair this tonight under a urgent road closure and are looking to backfill and reinstate the site straight after the repairs have been completed to minimise impact on the industrial estate. Our network control team are looking into a potential rezone of water to reduce the impact on customers within this zone, so therefore customers will still be in supply of water, albeit at low pressure.

(22:05) our team is currently awaiting road closures to be put in place once this has been undertaken we will commence with the work to repair the burst pipe, we have been advised all properties should be on supply but maybe at a reduced level of pressure properties at an elevation may find water not reaching them due to the lower pressure levels than normal

(02:00) Team have undertaken repair and water pressure is resoring to previous levels

(06:00) repair is fully complete
