Wednesday 7 March

Update 13:55

Following Leakage works throughout the Ware area over the last few days, we have seen pressure levels improve. We are expecting some pressure reduction during peak demand periods tonight but have further work scheduled overnight which should restore the area to normal pressure from early tomorrow morning.

We continue to monitor the situation closely and should the situation change we will resume website updates at an increased frequency.

We would like to thank our customers for their patience during this incident, and are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

This message will be updated further Thursday 8 March after 10:00

We are proactively monitoring the pressure in the area and will continue to do so through the day.

Tuesday 06 March

Update 15:30

Our team are out in force in the Ware area working hard to locate and repair leaks along the network. We have identified a burst water main on Ware Road in Hertford and have a team on site carrying out repairs.

We have arranged for bottled water pallets to be dropped at the following locations, in the event that customers living on these streets experience any pressure drops during peak demand this evening.

  • Richmond Close, Ware, SG12 0EN
  • Westmill Road, Ware SG12 OES
  • Church Field, Ware, SG12 0EP

Bottled water will be available from this location from 16:30 onwards. Supplies are limited so we would encourage customers to only head to these locations if they have a complete loss of water supply, as we anticipate the majority of customers will remain on water supply but may experience a pressure drop.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused customers, and we anticipate the continued support from residents living in the Ware area.

Tuesday 6th March 2018

We are aware a small number of our customers in Ware are experiencing low water pressure following the recent freeze and rapid thaw.

Our teams are in the area carrying out further investigations to find and fix any new leaks on our network.

If you have spotted a leak in your area, please report it to us at www.affinitywater.co.uk/leakspotters and we'll make sure to put it right.

We would also ask all our customers to check their own pipes for bursts and call a plumber if necessary. Outside taps are especially vulnerable to freezing temperatures and bursts may not be obvious.

Anyone responsible for commercial premises, which may not have been visited since the thaw started, should make sure their pipes have not been damaged.

We are sorry for the disruption to the customer's supplies and we would like to thank our customers for their patience.
