At Affinity Water, we're driven by our purpose of providing high-quality water and taking care of our communities’ environment – now and for the future.

We're proud to provide an essential public service and the opportunities that brings, to create value for the areas we supply. We can:

  • Help improve the environment
  • Support the local economy
  • Invest in our communities
  • Adapt to the challenges that climate change is bringing to our region

To measure the value we add to society, we use an Environment, Social and Governance framework, as well as a multi-capital approach.

We're creating public value through our core services. We're working with nature and our diverse communities whilst helping customers with their bills and forming partnerships. We're also volunteering and sharing our time and skills with charities.

Our recent activities:

Capital projects

Helping to protect chalk stream habitats and ensure the resilience of water service in the future.

Partnerships

Creating and fostering partnerships with nature conservation organisations and social charities. This is key for us to reach out and improve engagement with as many customers as possible, even the hard-to-reach ones that may need our support most. That's why we've partnered with debt charities and organisations like:

  • National Debtline
  • Citizens Advice
  • Surviving Economic Abuse
  • StepChange

Biodiversity

Investing in biodiversity on our land and in our supply area to improve access and recreation.

Volunteering

The communities we serve at Affinity Water are incredibly important to us. Lots of our people live and work in these areas, and they're always looking for ways to give back. That's why we created Affinity Days! Our teams can volunteer up to four days a year during work time. Our people have supported all sorts of amazing causes, like:

  • River clean ups and restorations
  • Fundraising
  • Supporting customers in vulnerable circumstances
  • Managing habitats

Innovation

Innovation and water neutrality to help customers save more water at home

Engaging with our communities

Engaging and investing in our people as the majority live and work in the area where we operate. We’re committed to making sure there’s diversity and inclusion within our business. We know we have work to do, so we’ve taken some important steps towards this. We're committed members of Inclusive Employers and the Business Disability, and we’re developing our EDI strategy.
