The facility is needed by Affinity Water to provide a new water supply to its catchment area. As it is reducing bore hole water extraction from chalk aquifers, it must find alternative sources and this project will enable water to be transported down through Anglian Water’s catchment area.

We do not believe there will be any adverse impacts on the local community. We hope to use some of the land we do not need to create a space for biodiversity through rewilding or planting of trees. Alternatively, we could retain the land for local grazing. Without it, we cannot meet our commitments to reduce bore hole water extraction in the Chilterns and conserve chalk streams.

Yes, although during COVID19 restrictions, we will need to hold them online. There are two webinars where you can hear about our plans and ask our team any questions you may have. Details of the webinars can be found under the Consultation Tab of this website.

No public money will be spent on this project.

No. There is no requirement for any new water pipes outside of the site.

We are proposing to widen the existing junction to the Sundon Reservoir site, to ensure road safety.

No. This project will not affect the supply or quality of any supplies to local communities. That will continue to be supplied by Anglian Water.
