Affinity Water works with wildlife for Responsible Business Week

Earlier this month, volunteers from Affinity Water showed their commitment by taking part in activities to help protect and enhance the local environment, share skills and gain knowledge whilst working alongside charity partners Wildlife Trusts.

Responsible Business Week is an opportunity for employees to volunteer their time to engage on local issues, and gave Affinity Water the opportunity to give something back to the communities they serve. Throughout the week, volunteers visited various sites and took part in scrub clearance, replacing fences and a beach clean which will all help encourage more wildlife and visitors.

Ben Hobgood from Surrey Wildlife Trust said: “It was a great help to have Affinity Water volunteers come along and help with management on site. The work completed on the day that included scrub clearance and bare ground creation will now encourage invertebrates to burrow and improve the structural diversity of the site’.

Anna Jarmolinska-Nowak, Affinity Water, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager said: “Employee volunteering is a great way to engage on local issues and bring our community focus vision to life. Wildlife Trusts share our strong focus on protecting the environment and local habitats and those events gave a great opportunity to come together and make a difference.’
