The much-anticipated Ricky Road Run is back for the 37th year running, this year with a fundamental difference - it has gone virtual! Event organisers, Affinity Water, are looking for participants to join them in helping to raise money for charity. It can be run, walked, hopped, or skipped on a route chosen by the participants - it doesn’t even have to be in Rickmansworth or Chorleywood, on a road or even a run!
Each year the event is organised in association with Affinity Water to raise money for some amazing charities. This year the event is supporting WaterAid and KitAid. Sign up is open now for runners and walkers. Affinity Water is appealing for more people from the local community to get involved to make this year’s virtual run a real success!
Alex Sage from the Ricky Road Run 2020 committee at Affinity Water said: “The support from the local community for the Ricky Road Run is always fantastic and this has helped us to raise over £450,000 for charity since it started. Confirmed sponsors for this year’s event are KINTO, Riverside Automation and Veolia. With hundreds of runners entering the Ricky Road Run every year, it would be great for as many people as possible to ‘go virtual’ in 2020 to make their contribution in support of local charities. Even if we can’t all run together right now, we can still make this event a great success.”
For more information on how to sign up for the virtual Ricky Road Run 2020, please visit the Ricky Road Run website www.rickyroadrun.co.uk. The race can be completed anytime between 17th July to 3rd August. Registration costs £10 and participants who complete the distance will receive a medal and bandana.
