Time to Give raises £1,600 for Isabel Hospice
Thanks to Affinity Water’s employees’ generous donations, Isabel Hospice is now £1,600 better off. Last week, CEO Pauline Walsh met Linda Cudmore and Sophie Andrews from the charity to present them with a giant cheque.
The money was raised during September’s Time to Give charity day. Asset Technician Paul Andrews organised events at Hatfield including a fantastic raffle, a cake sale and Guess how much water in the model duck pond. The Isabel Hospice ran a stall selling gifts and Christmas cards; a collection took place at Hatfield; and Folkestone held a dress-down day for the occasion.

Paul said: “When I found out Isabel Hospice had been chosen to take part in Time to Give Monday, I set a target in my mind of what I would like to raise for the charity and that figure was £1,000. I’m pleased to say with everyone’s generosity and a matching contribution from the company, we raised a total of £1,600.
“The raffle was very successful with over 40 prizes, as was the bake sale which sold out quickly. (I learnt you can never make enough chocolate cake!)
“Big thanks on the day for my colleague Steve Boote and Sophie Andrews and Linda Cudmore from Isabel Hospice.
“If you can, please continue helping Isabel Hospice by visiting one of their charity shops, their online E bay shop or simply donating directly – it would greatly help the cause.”
Note: Affinity Water hold eight Time to Give charity events each year to raise money for local charities within its communities. The events are organised by employees and Affinity Water match-fund the donations received.
