Affinity Water supports Teens Unite in fighting cancer

Teens Unite Fighting Cancer, a charity based in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire has received a donation of £2,176 thanks to Affinity Water’s Community Engagement Programme.

Teens Unite is the only UK charity that supports young people aged 13-24 with cancer from the moment of diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond remission. To ensure no one ever feels alone in their journey, workshops and activities are provided to increase their confidence, self-esteem and well-being.

Thanks to Affinity Water, Teens Unite was able to provide an activity day for 22 of the young people they support. On the day, teens took part in various activities including the zip wire and archery. The day offered a great opportunity for the teens to make new friends and see that they are not alone in their fight to beat cancer.

Emma Fleming, Grants and Fundraising Coordinator for Teens Unite Fighting Cancer said: “We are extremely grateful to Affinity Water for this grant, which enabled us to give young people with cancer these opportunities; to rebuild their confidence and self-esteem and to live a life beyond illness.”

Adam Warner, Chair of the Community Review panel said: “We are pleased to have the chance to support Teens Unite Fighting Cancer. Affinity Water is a community-focused organisation serving local people and we want to be involved in projects which benefit the communities we serve.”
