Home-Start brings charity to the community

Home-Start Spelthorne is a charity offering support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children, in local communities within Staines.

Home-Start has recently been given a community donation from Affinity Water, which has enabled them to create leaflets to encourage support for the charity.

Mandy Groves, Scheme Manager said “We are so pleased with the support Affinity Water has given us. To Home-Start, every family is special and we respond to each family’s needs through a combination of home-visiting support, group work and social events. The leaflets we have created will help to promote this and encourage volunteers to come along and help out.”

Affinity Water representatives Adam Warner & Katie Davey visited the independent charity to find out more on the project. Katie said: “Adam and I were so impressed with the charity’s work. It’s a great cause ensuring children are given the best possible start in life. The work they put into the community is inspiring and the leaflets will help promote their activities within the local area.

Adam Warner, Chair of the Community Review panel said: “Affinity Water is a community focused organisation serving local people and we want to be involved in projects which benefit the communities we serve. We are pleased to support Home-Start Spelthorne.” .
