Affinity Water teams up with National Debtline to assist customers through Coronavirus outbreak
Affinity Water is helping its customers most in need of financial help during the Coronavirus outbreak by teaming up with National Debtline.
Some of Affinity Water’s customers who may have been struggling to pay their bills due to ongoing debt commitments before or subsequent to the outbreak occurring can now seek help through a dedicated webpage.
James Tipler Head of Billing and Debt Management for Affinity Water said: “Through our partnership with National Debtline, we have developed a financial support webpage for customers with additional financial stress. Customers are signposted to National Debtline for additional support.
“We know that as a result of publicising our own Coronavirus financial help packages on the Affinity Water website, we’ve already helped nearly 1,500 customers with payment breaks. Our new money advice page on the National Debtline website will enable us to reach out further. Government financial assistance will take time to flow into household incomes, with the self-employed, those working in the gig- economy and on zero-hour contracts most impacted.
“Our financial help packages include a range of different payment options and budgeting schemes, alternative tariffs, and our priority services register. Our ‘debt-help’ and ‘struggling to pay’ webpages provide customer ‘personas’ showing how we have helped other customers with similar financial vulnerability at www.affinitywater.co.uk/debt-help.
