To Affinity and beyond!

On a wet and windy Saturday 11 June, six teams from Affinity Water took part in a hike through the Lake District Wainwright Fells in support of the Water Aid Mountain Challenge.

One of the six teams ‘To Affinity and Beyond’ included Sarah Murray (Scientific Officer) Sophia Mountford (Asset Engineer), Sandeep Guhman (Technical Graduate), Steff Hurry (Water Efficiency Assistant Project Manager), Emma Craddock (Assistant Project Manager) and Elspeth Dewick (Production Technical Administrator) who all took on the challenge to help WaterAid bring clean water and toilets to developing countries by 2030.

With the team in place, they all individually worked on their fitness ready for the 19km hike along the famously difficult Easedale route.

With £2,652 raised and donations still coming in, the team set off early in the morning, working hard to battle against the poor weather conditions and had managed to complete the walk by five o’clock.

Sarah Murray, Scientific Officer said: “I enjoyed the whole experience and the challenge of taking on a more difficult route through the wainwrights. We worked really well within our teams, had a fun day and are now another step closer to reaching WaterAid’s goal.”
