Affinity Water helps local charity keep the elderly warm this Christmas

Volunteers from local water supplier, Affinity Water visited Watford based charity, ‘Small Acts of Kindness’ in November to help teams prepare ‘Warm in Winter’ gift packs for elderly people living in the area.

Small Acts of Kindness is a charity providing gifts to older people in Hertfordshire that are struggling with loneliness and isolation. Over 49,000 people are affected in this area alone with one in five over 65-year olds spending their waking day alone.

On the day Helen Harvey and Emma Taylor Millard, both from Affinity Water helped pack over 1,000 Warm in winter gift packs, a new record amount for the team. Over 3,500 bags will be distributed to the community this winter and will make a real difference.

Lynne Misner FRSA, Chief Executive Officer for Small Acts of Kindness said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Affinity Water and thank everyone who helped with this amazing packing day. The Warm in Winter gift bags will help some of the most vulnerable older people in our community stay warm this winter.”
