The Mixed Group is a charity that works to raise money throughout the year and host a dinner event on Christmas day for lonely and elderly people, living within the borough of Welwyn and Hatfield.
The charity aims to combat isolation and loneliness amongst the elderly by providing comfort and company, as well as a Christmas dinner and wrapped presents for older people that would normally spend Christmas alone.
Sean Cox MBE, Trustee for The Mixed Group said: “The Mixed Group is extremely grateful for the support of Affinity Water. Their donation enabled us to purchase wonderful gifts for our guests, many of whom would have been alone on Christmas Day.”
Affinity Water Community Stakeholder Manager, Adam Warner said: “We are pleased to have the chance to support The Mixed Group for the second year running. Affinity Water is a community-focused organisation serving local people and we want to be involved in projects which benefit the communities we serve.”
Affinity Water’s Community Engagement Programme offers opportunities for charities and organisations within its community to benefit from Affinity Water resources, expertise or funding.
