The Met Office has confirmed that the UK experienced the driest start to summer since modern records began in 1961. This has led to a significant increase in demand for water and customers being asked to assist by saving water in the home and garden.
Affinity Water’s Head of Production, Graham Turk said: “We would like to thank our customers who have been using water wisely during this extraordinary summer heatwave. It’s fantastic to see the surge in demand for water saving devices and people spreading the water saving message to their family, friends and neighbours.”
“Actions to save water have really helped bring the demand for water down. It shows great community spirit and will help us leave more water in the environment.
“Saving water also helps save energy and money too, so we continue to encourage people to get on board with their neighbours and order a FREE water saving device today at www.affinitywater.co.uk/my-water/save-water“
