Affinity Water set for £119 million investment for 2019/20

Affinity Water is to invest £119 million over the next 12 months to keep customers’ taps flowing with safe, reliable supplies of drinking water while also protecting the environment.

To help fund this investment, it has also confirmed the average household bill for 2019/20 will be £172 a year, which will take effect from 1 April 2019.

Affinity Water’s Director of Customer Experience, Amanda Reynolds said: “We work hard to keep water bills affordable and continue to hold any increases we may need to make at below-inflation levels while investing in our pipes, pumping stations and treatment works to keep customers taps flowing with a reliable and high-quality supply of water.

We have some of the lowest water bills in the country and believe they represent excellent value for money, but also appreciate some customers may still struggle to pay. If that’s the case we’d urge those customers to get in touch with us as soon as possible, as we have a wide range of financial help available to support those most in need.” Affinity Water already supports over 60,000 vulnerable customers to manage their bill through its Low Income Fixed Tariff and WaterSure schemes.
