Affinity Water Limited has already embraced the opportunity this market reform represents by establishing a dedicated customer service team for non-household customers within its existing business, branded ‘Affinity for Business’.
A new company – Affinity for Business (Retail) Ltd – has also been established. It will acquire the Affinity for Business brand and operate as a national retailer when the new market opens. On 9 November 2016 Ofwat, the economic regulator of the water sector in England and Wales, granted Affinity for Business (Retail) Ltd the licences it needs to supply water and waste water services to business customers across England and Wales.
Simon Cocks, Affinity Water CEO commented “At Affinity Water we are committed to establishing ourselves as the UK’s leading community-focused water company. A key component of this relates to how we support our business customers. I am very pleased that we have appointed Helen Gillett, currently Director of the Affinity for Business team within Affinity Water, as Managing Director of the new business. Helen will ensure customers experience a smooth transition to the new market arrangements”.
Helen Gillett commented, “I am delighted that Ofwat has granted us licences to provide both water and waste water services after the competitive market opens in April 2017. This gives us the opportunity to continue to provide a high quality service to our business customers and support not only the communities we serve today, but also potentially businesses operating elsewhere across England and Wales"
“At Affinity for Business We have exciting plans for the new retail market which will enable us to deliver even better, high quality services that enable our customers to concentrate on their core business activities.”
The Affinity for Business team will continue to deliver reliable, high quality services that support long term relationships, providing tailored solutions that help businesses manage their water use, saving energy and money.
