Installation requirements

Before you request a connection here is a helpful guide to understand what we need to process your request.

  • Properties with a single connection

If you choose to appoint an approved underground installer, we will require the following information:

    1. A copy of the approved contractor certificate (WIAPS or equivalent).
    2. A photo which shows that the pipework has been laid to the agreed point at boundary as per your survey drawing. The pipe must be capped at the end to prevent contamination. The cap should be visible in the boundary photo if possible, or a separate close-up photo can be provided. example photo

If you choose not to use an approved underground installer to install your pipework, we require a few more photos in order to assess compliance:

    • A photo of your pipe at a depth of 750 – 850mm. We need to see the finished ground level with respect to the depth of the pipe. example photo
    • A photo that there is a stop tap installed internally. example photo
    • A photo to show that you have added ducting/insulation through/under the wall. example photo

View our ‘Are you ready for connection?’ document.

  • Properties with multiple connections

If you choose to appoint an approved plumber or groundworker, we will require the following information:
