Installation requirements

Before you request a connection here is a helpful guide to understand what we need to process your request.

  • Properties with a single connection

If you choose to appoint an approved plumber or groundworker, we will require the following information:

    1. A copy of the approved contractor certificate (WIAPS or equivalent).
    2. A photo which shows that the pipework has been laid to the agreed point at boundary as per your survey drawing. example photo

If you choose not to use an approved groundworker or plumber to install your pipework, we will require a few more photos in order to ensure that your site is ready for connection:

    • Laid your pipe at a depth of 750 – 850mm. You will need to show us the finished ground level with respect to the depth of the pipe. example photo
    • You have capped the end of the pipe at the boundary to prevent contamination. The cap should be visible in the boundary photo but you can take a close up photo if you like.example photo
    • You have installed a stop tap internally. example photo
    • You have added ducting/insulation through/under the wall example photo

View our ‘Are you ready for connection?’ document.
