Affinity Water Laboratory Achieves "My Green Lab" Top Certification Status
Affinity Water is thrilled to announce that its laboratory has achieved the prestigious "My Green Lab" (MGL) top certification status, marking a significant milestone in the company's sustainability journey.
Affinity Water's laboratory is the first in the UK water sector to attain this esteemed certification, positioning the company as a leader in environmental stewardship within the industry.
Last year, Affinity Water embarked on its MGL certification journey, undertaking an initial MGL baseline survey assessment. Since then, the laboratory team has been dedicated to implementing sustainable practices and improvements to enhance lab sustainability. Through initiatives such as issuing Green Alerts, disseminating MGL information posters, developing a MGL Padlet, and implementing numerous sustainability improvements, Affinity Water has demonstrated its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint.
The results of the recent certification survey are in, and Affinity Water's laboratory has achieved an impressive 91% "GREEN" score, a remarkable improvement from its initial baseline score of 43% BRONZE. This exceptional achievement underscores the dedication and hard work of the entire laboratory team and reaffirms Affinity Water's commitment to environmental excellence.
Chris Underwood, Laboratory Technical Manager at Affinity Water, expressed his excitement, stating, "This is an amazing achievement for the lab. To go from an initial baseline score of 43% to a first certification score of 91% in a relatively short space of time is outstanding. Being the first water lab in the UK to achieve this status is truly special. This recognition is a testament to the great team effort and the substantial reduction in our environmental impact as a laboratory."
Namrata Jain, MGL Senior Marketing Manager, extended congratulations to Affinity Water, emphasising the significance of this accomplishment.
