British disabled water-ski association
Our reservoir at Heron Lake, Staines is home to the Southern Region of the British Disabled Water-ski and Wakeboard Association (BDWWA formerly BDWSA). With the support of the company in providing a free facility and an annual donation, the BDWWA is able to teach disabled people to water ski and enjoy water-related activities. If you’d like to find out more about the work of the BDWWA give the centre a call and take the opportunity to get involved.
"Thanks for all the support you give the BDWSA, I was a skier before my injury and would go to Heron Lake to coach. I broke my neck in May 2001, and now use the lake as my main training site." Claire Ellis, World Champion and record holder for slalom.
