Interruption to your water supply - Harlow and Bishops Stortford - CM17 and CM22

We’ve successfully fixed the burst water main, and no further customer impact is expected.

What we're doing

We'll continue to flush the water main over the weekend, and return Monday 26th July to finish flushing.

Appearance of your water

If your water is discoloured or cloudy, don’t worry this is normal. We know it doesn’t look nice, but it’s not harmful and you can help by running your cold tap until it’s clear. To find out more, please click here.

All customers are expected to have a supply, and water pressure will have returned back to normal now the network has built back up.

We've successfully restored all customers water supplies, however due to the size of the area affected some customers may still experience low pressure whilst the network builds up again.

Our repair team have now isolated the burst water main and all customers should now have their water restored. We will continue to repair the main and will update this page once this has been completed.

What you can do

Until we’ve sorted this, please avoid using your:

  • Washing machine
  • Dishwasher
  • Electrical appliances that use water

If you still have water, we recommend you put some in your kettle or fridge for drinking in case your water needs switching off for the repair.
