What we’re doing

We were made aware overnight of a burst water main on Scots Hill in Croxley Green. We’re pleased to confirm that repair works have been completed and water supply has now been restored to the customers who were previously without water.

We're really sorry if you have had no water or lower water pressure than normal. Our repair teams remain on site at Scots Hill as we continue reinstating the carriageway and making the area safe for reopening. This is a complex operation, and while we’re working hard to complete the process, work may continue into the weekend. We’re carefully managing each stage to minimise disruption.

Ongoing roadworks

Work is continuing at Scots Hill, where a full road closure remains in place to allow the reinstatement to be completed safely. A signed diversion route is in place via Rickmansworth Road (A4125), Eastbury, and The Rookery (A412).
Due to the scale and complexity of the repair, reinstatement will be carried out in phases, with completion targeted for Saturday, 7th June. We’re doing everything we can to minimise disruption and safely reopen the road as soon as possible.

Reinstatement Plan

Phase 1 – Tuesday 3rd June
Excavation of the damaged area began, assessing the full impact of the burst.

Phase 2 – Wednesday 4th - 5th Thursday June
Over 240 tonnes of base course was laid using tarmac paving machinery. Logistics continue to be challenging due to limited space and access.

Phase 3 – Friday 6th June
We’ll install 60 tonnes of surface course. This will be an intensive day of work and may extend into Saturday depending on site conditions.

Phase 4 – Saturday 7th June
Final surface works and site clearance are scheduled to begin at 6am, with works expected to complete by around 9am, subject to progress.
