Essential works at Amersham Water Treatment Works

What are we doing?

The Amersham Water Treatment Works is an integral part of the water network in Buckinghamshire and ensures the local community is provided with a reliable, wholesome supply of water each day.

To ensure we continue to provide the area with a high-quality supply of water, we need to install a temporary filtration plant on our site.

The temporary filtration plant will act as a safeguard against potential increases in the concentration of chalk in groundwater, which may be affected by nearby HS2 works.

Once HS2 works have completed, the filtration plant will be removed.

Customers adjacent to the treatment works may notice an increase in noise and additional lighting on our site during work hours.

Disruption will be minimised as much as possible and these works will have no affect on your water supply.

Please be assured that these works are absolutely essential to ensure we continue to provide a reliable and wholesome supply of water to your area whilst HS2 works are carried out.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this work may cause and would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your cooperation.

When?

The work will start on 1 July 2019 and is due for completion by 31 May 2020.

Normal working hours will be between 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am – 1pm on Saturdays.

We will be updating this page regularly as the work progresses so please visit again soon.
