We are laying a new water main. This will help ensure Affinity Water continues to provide a reliable, high quality supply of water for many years to come and to help meet future demand for water.
We will initially carry out survey works to confirm the route and map out existing utility services deep underground and lay the new main during this time.
We are working closely with Enfield Borough Council to start this work earlier than planned, whilst there is reduced traffic, to ensure we minimise disruption as much as possible.
Our teams on the ground will be operating under government guidelines on social distancing with the appropriate PPE to make sure they are kept safe during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place to maintain traffic flows and to ensure the safety of commuters and engineers working to install the new main. The 16919 and 16920 bus stops will be temporarily suspended during the works, however stops before and after the works will in use and the route will be unaffected.
Acoustic screens will be installed to minimise noise for residents and pedestrians during the works.
Our works will start on Monday 11 May 2020 and will be completed within eight weeks by early July. Our working hours will be Monday to Friday 7.30am to 6.30pm and occasional working on Saturdays 8am – 1pm, if required. If we do have to work additional days or hours, we will notify residents beforehand.
